And it's a.....

BOY!!!!! We had our scan on Monday night and found out I have an amazing and healthy little man inside!! He is SUCH a wriggler - no wonder I can feel him so much!! Measuring perfectly to date (so not too big yet!) and heart, brain, kidneys, tummy - EVERYTHING about him is perfect!!!

In complete honesty I didn't really know I felt after the scan. We walked out and I had a bit of a teary in the car (Peter was in his car so I was on my own) but I think it was a mix of utter relief that everything is ok and just being so overwhelmed that we know now and it make him REAL!!! So I went shopping and bought a few little outfits and the CUTEST little blue giraffe from Myer so I'm really really happy about it all.

We got a DVD so watched it again last night and there is definitely no mistaking that this is infact a little man - not shy about his boy bits that's for sure! Haha! But he was so cooperative and gorgeous!! 

So there's a pic of my little man. I'm really falling in love with the name Ashton the more I think about it! I was walking around the shops yesterday thinking about it and was all 'Baby Ash would like this' etc. So I'm really really happy with it all!!

Peter felt him kick on Tuesday night aswell which was awesome! He kicked right on cue. Tried to get him to do it again last night but no such luck! He hid as soon as Peter's hand was on my tummy! Cheeky boy!!

But yeah so now we can get started on our Jungle Theme nursery which is exciting! I'm so pumped to be able to get started at long last!!! YAY! haha It's going to be awesome!

20 weeks today so halfway there.... it's gone pretty damn quickly so far so hopefully it can continue to do so - they say the next 10 weeks are the longest... I hope not coz I've only got something like 12 weeks of work left!!!!!

Well that's it from me today!! Life is pretty damn good!!!

SCAN DAY!!!!!

YAAAAYYY!!! I am finally here! After what feels like an eternity of waiting we have finally reached scan day!!! I haven't seen Reggie since 12w 6d and I'm now 19w 4d so I'm sooooo excited to see my little butter bean again!! I have so much activity going on in there I am DYING to see how much the little tyke has grown!

Will Reggie be a blue baby or a pink one?? Well hopefully in 7 hours I will find out! We are so excited! At the moment we have settled on Ashton Alan for a boy and Reece Mary for a girl! I am going to be ecstatic either way because the more we talk about a little boy I do fall in love with that idea too! So I'm just so so sooo excited that tonight provided little Reggie co operates we will know! :) ARGH! I wish I could have had a morning scan like I usually do but Peter wouldn't have been able to get time off work so we've had to go with an evening appointment!!

I've definitely 'popped' some more - though it looks A LOT bigger from my angle than everyone elses! But I woke up yesterday feeling pregnant!! So I bought a maternity top from kmart - I want to start getting more fitted clothes instead of just being baggy all the time and also some maternity pants for work. Funnily enough though it's not because my work pants are too snug but because they are swimming on me and look ridiculous so wanted to get some pants that actually fit!! So a bit exciting it was!! :)

Tooth hasn't given me too much gried since Thursday night, but I've got a script from the dentist to deal with the infection and then have to get the tooth taken out at some point! YIKES!! I hate it but it needs to go and tooth infections can cause problems (such as premature labour) in the third trimester! So needs to be dealt with!!

Argh, I am so excited to see my baby tonight... I'm always a little anxious but Im hoping the movements combined with hearing the heartbeat on Tuesday can keep my nerves at bay and when we get in there we just see our beautiful little baby!!!

Heartbeats and reasurrance!

Well an ob appointment this morning! Just the usual check up and routine touch base type thing! Got to hear little Reggie's heartbeat though which is always an amazing sound to hear! My uterus is up nice and high right up at the belly button but Reggie loves snuglgling right down low to the pants line! It actually hurts sometimes so I wonder what it's going to be like as bubs gets bigger!!

I love feeling Reggie snuggled in low though because thats when I can feel it the most and its awesome - and also when Peter can feel where bubs is hiding! Needless to say I wasn't surprised the doppler was placed quite low and there was bubs!

Happy with hearing that heartbeat - will take some of the anxiety surrounding next weeks scan away knowing that at least bubs is alive and kicking!

God gym session last night- Dr John was happy with me going to the gym so all good there! I know I'm not overdoing it so I'm happy to keep going. My comlimentary membership expires soon though which is sad! I'll miss it!! But I'm going to buy a fit ball and get my butt in to gear to start walking when it finishes! Will also be going to the pg exercise classes at the hospital once a week so all good! I'm defiintely thicker in the trunk which I guess at just about 19 weeks is pretty much expected!!!

So all in all travelling nicely - still mammothly tired - slept practically comatose last night which I will take advantage of!! So just cruising along!

One week til my scan!

Yep only one week left of this agonising wait to hopefully find out if Reggie is a boy baby or a girl baby! I am so excited to see Reggie again! Reggie is quite the active little work wriggling and rolling all over the place! Had a realisation yesterday (and this is probably really naive of me) that the whole measurement thing is not including Reggie's legs.. so Reggie would be roughly 15cm about now (give or take) PLUS legs!! Even though I know that the measurements are crown to rump it never occurred to me to picture the legs in the whole thing! haha So silly but now I'm like WHOA! That is a long baby in there now!! No wonder I can feel them in there so much!!

Having a bit of morning sickness today which is weird. Almost threw up over nothing this morning and have had a seedy feeling about me all day - despite eating etc. so obviously a bit of growth is going on right now! That and I am sooo tired again! I had a nap for 3 hours yesterday afternoon and still slept like a log last night and could easily go back to bed now! So I'm thinking reggie is getting bigger!!

Definitely popped a bit more! It's cute but really weird to get used to the mindset of 'I'm supposed to have this belly, it's not a fat lazy belly it's baby' after years and years of doing what I can to keep a flat tummy!

Starting pregnancy exercise classes at the hospital hopefully this Wednesday with one of my sisters friends (though we are friends too)! They were pregnant together and went to the classes so it'll be nice to go with someone! I'll also be keeping up the gym but a least at the pregnancy classes I can learn exercises to do that will be really beneficial! I had such a lazy week last week in terms of exercise and eating so need to up my game a bit this week and eat healthier and a bit more exercise (went to the gym once last week)!!

Thinking at some stage of getting a fit ball to sit on at work as it would be far more comfy for my back then these silly chairs we have here! Just can't believe how its all coming along! It's incredible and so far I'm loving being pregnant!! Even the morning sickness and everything has been totally worth it so far and I know once I have my little baby I'll think it's even more worth it!!! Can't wait til summer gets here so I can meet this baby!!!

2 weeks til my scan!!!

As the title says exactly 2 weeks til the big morph scan! I am excited for 2 reasons - 1) I can see lil Reggie again! This has been the longest I have gone without either seeing bubs or hearing the heartbeat at least! It's doing my head in! I had a quiet day of movements yesterday which automatically sends me in to freak out but then I think I was on my feet all day from 7am til I got home at 7pm so when would I have had time to notice them?? and 2) We can hopefully find out the sex of little Reggie! I'm dying to know!! I'm actually getting really excited at the idea of having a little boy too so I think gender disappointment is fading slowly which is a great feeling and making me feel less guilty!! I think it's coz we've found a name we really like for a boy!

So far the boys name we like is Ashton Alan (Alan being Peter's dad's name) and the Girls names we are tossing around a few like Alexis Grace or Alexis Mary (Mary being my grandmother's name who's name hasn't been used in 3 nieces yet) or I really like the name Quinn, Reece and Jaidyn for girls! All unisex ironically but I love them!! Peter likes them aswell so now it's just a waiting game! :)

Have not felt any sickness for a little while now which is awesome!! I'm still tired but not nearly as tired as what I was at the start! That was incredible! And i've finally popped a little! YAY! haha Not a lot and if you didn't know I was pregnant you still wouldn't but those who know have noticed! I had HEAPS of really painful stretching pains on Friday night so I knew something was going on. I wasn't concerned about them as I could literally feel the muscles pulling and straining so I knew what it was without worrying but it was really painful! But yeah it was exciting!!

Pimples have come back in full swing which is just awesome! NOT!! So I've got some new face washing regime I've begun and hopefully this will get my face sorted out! I've never bee one to be into products or a strict beauty regime so it's hard to form a habit or that and also started bio oiling my stomach and thighs every night now in an attempt to minimise stretch marks.

Had a lovely day out on Saturday - went out for lunch with girlfriends and one of my sisters who brought my new niece along and I took along our other niece to give mum who was baby sitting a break as she's in to EVERYTHING! IT was fun walking through the shops pushing the strollers! Though I am 100% happy with our purchase of the 3 wheeler! I love it!! And my niece was an angel for me, ate lunch then slept for 45 minutes! haha Was awesome!!

Anyways, best be off - gotta get back to work!!

17 Weeks TODAY!!

Well I still can't believe I have made it this far! I remember thinking 12 weeks was just a fantasy and here I am at 17 weeks!!

Reggie has been SO wriggly today! I'm really starting to feel definite movements now which is exciting! Can not wait for Peter to be able to feel them! It must be so hard from the guys perspective as the physical stuff isn't happening to them! So I do try to include him in everything where I possibly can!

Not looking even remotely pregnant yet - infact I'd be interested to stand on the scales and see what they say as I don't think I've put on ANY weight yet! My tummy is firmer where my utereus has moved up but it's not popped yet! If I'm laying down flat I can see my uterus but thats about it! Looking forward to having a belly!!

My sis who had my niece last week has already snapped back into shape (without exercise since giving birth) because her body remembered what to do which proves even more to me the importance of exercise during pregnancy (when it can be done obviously!!) If I were ever putting bubs or myself at risk I would happily stop! But I've been to the gym twice this week to do a light workout. I workout with a girlfriend who is trying to lose 15-20kgs so I did into my brain to when I did my cert III in Fitness and work her out and do the same things of way less intensity and if I feel I can't do it or I'm tweaking a wrong way I don't do it! I'm just there to strengthen my core not to lose weight at the end of the day! But it does feel good to get back in there and I can't wait to start my PT studies at the end of the year!!!

Been feeling a lot better this week!! No sickness or anything - just a few gag moments but not much! Still going to bed at a reasonable hour! Started my part time work this week down from 5 days to 4 so that was nice to have a day off yesterday and spend time with the family. Will be good though as it gives me an extra day to get the house organised.

Peter is starting to prepare the nursery this weekend so I can't wait to have that ready to paint - 2.5 weeks til we find out if Reggie is a blue or a pink baby!!!

Once again an iphone update has stuffed up my Facebook so SWB girls I'm trying to get it - I'm just rarely on the computer at home!!!

16w 4d

Well another weekend has passed and I am slowly surviving another Monday! They are just the worst! But it is a good feeling that I have gone down to 4 days as of this week! So Wednesdays off it is for me! I was just finding that by Thursday  I could barely function as a human being because I would just be so tired and this way it allows the girl who is part time (3 days) to jump up to 4 days in preparation for taking over my role when I leave!

I'm looking forward to the day off to organise things! I have so much at home I need to organise it is starting to do my head in! We just have so much stuff and no storage so I'm so over living with piles of crap everywhere! I need to throw a heap of stuff out and get some storage boxes for other stuff!

So good weekend generally speaking, it's so nice now that everyone knows about Reggie that I can talk freely and openly about it! Peter is excited too and has been telling anyone and everyone! hehe It's very cute!

Went and picked up our cot yesterday. Won it on ebay for $200! I am so excited! It's used but in really really good condition and virtually identical to the one we saw in Baby Buntings for $600! - the only difference is you can't see through the ends but it's in perfect condition and I can't wait to set it up! Basically now we are just looking at a change table which goes with the set but I could really go either way on it as the end of the day as it's not a sense of urgency! Otherwise I don't have to buy anything else! Everything else I'll either be getting off my sisters or being given as gifts! So now it's just time to start preparing the nursery so it's ready to paint as soon as we find out if Reggie is a boy or a girl!! Only 3 weeks exactly! YAAAY!! I'm so pumped! Even just to see Reggie again!

Bubs LOVES the vibrations of being in the car though, if I feel movements most its when I'm driving! BUT I am definitely starting to feel a lot more (including right then) so I guess I am starting to feel kicks and stuff! One the other night made me jump! haha

I have a pic to add to here aswell of my belly taken last night.. so will get on to that tonight! I've been sooo slack at putting pics up! Terrible! I have definitely filled out but still wouldn't say I've popped..I thought I had because from my angle it looks like it - but in the pic it's looks like nothing! haha

Starting to feel a lot less pregnant in terms of symptoms! I'm still really tired but definitely not AS tired as I was in the first trimest but I don't feel sick anymore. I really just have moments of almost spewing if I smelll something REALLY gross - generally toilet smells!!

I'm starting to get a cold though so not too happy about that! Hopefully it won't get too bad! Just a stuffy nose and dry throat at the moment! And a KILLER toothache! Looks like a dental appointment needs to be made! :( I hate the dentist but my tooth needs to be fixed as best they can coz it is giving me so much grief!

Also just to be super organised Peter and I headed off to Kmart yesterday and did 99% of my christmas shopping for the kids! Just a couple of pressies to go! So happy!! I love christmas layby! I figured that come christmas Reggie is due and I'll be broke so shopping with those crowds is going to be the last thing I feel like doing!! :)

Wow..Reggie is insanely wiggly right now! :) Loves it!!!
